What is Jungian Analysis

Based on the ideas of C. G. Jung (1875-1961),  Jungian analysis is an in-depth psychotherapeutic approach that can be helpful for people of all ages in order to better understand issues encountered in life.

These issues may include: stress, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, psychosomatics, or personality disorders.

Analytic therapy can likewise be helpful in the case of a block of inner creativity, or when one feels stuck and seeks support for processes of self-reflection and personal development.

Jungian analysis is a unique psychotherapy. What is so distinctive, and so special about Jungian analysis is that it emphasizes images. Jungian analysis is a psychotherapy that exercises and explores the imagination.

Jungian analysis facilitates the individuation process by focusing on the individual’s  needs and potentials in the context of deeper meaning.

Special attention is also given to the soul’s symbolic language and archetypal meaning of inner and outer experiences.

Jungian analysis respects the inner wisdom of the client and facilitates the development of  inner resources and creative potentials which will move the client towards wholeness and help them experience life in a more related and authentic way.

Jungian analysis is not for everyone. Analysis, Jung says, is a “confrontation with the unconscious” that requires considerable moral courage. Is Jungian analysis for you? Only if you are prepared to undergo a descent into the depths of the psyche and encounter images in the unconscious mind in an effort to become more conscious.

If you are considering therapy with a jungian analyst be sure to check the directory of International Association for Analytical Psychology in the IAAP website.

There you will find the names and addresses of all the analysts who have made their training with an IAAP recognized society.
